BOISE, Idaho– Boise State University is starting Veterans Day parties early this year with the opening of a brand-new exhibit concentrating on Japanese American veterans from World War II.
The Go for Broke Spirit: Portraits of Legacy by Shane Sato is a job that focuses around Japanese American veterans that dealt with in World War II as participants of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 100th Battalion, and the Military Intelligence Service, which were set apart devices.
This task began an interest task for Sato concerning twenty years earlier.
“I really want to present and show these men in a different way,” Sato said. “There’s a lot of historical texts out there, but I want to humanize the men. I want to share their stories about the war, not talk about the war that they were in.”
