As component of its summertime reviewing program, the Culpeper County Library invited Ron Collins, of Tampa Taiko Japanese Drums, on July 27, to execute and also talk on the standard Japanese art of the drums. According to Collins, the art was a dental custom going back a thousand years.
During the occasion, guests were welcomed to use his drum established, which were made from old white wine barrels from Napa Valley, California.
“The program was less performance and more hands on,” Collins claimed. “There were so many little kids there, we started letting them get on the drums about 20 minutes into the show. We ran the hour out teaching people how to bang on the drums correctly.”
