A publication by a historian from the Naval History and Heritage Command remembers a strange episode from a long-ago war. In the terrific WWII fight for Okinawa, Japan turned to self-destruction goals called kamikaze. The publication’s title claims all of it, “On The Verge Of Breaking Down Completely, Surviving The Kamikaze Off Okinawa, 1945.
