Abstract: The just recently launched eight-part Japanese docudrama THE DAYS (Netflix 2023) seemingly worries the March 2011 quake, tidal wave, atomic power plant surges and succeeding crises atFukushima We emphasize the troublesome making of this specific Fukushima display background by evaluating THE DAYS’ narrative accuracy and dependence on ‘heroic’ disaster tropes, absent-presences, the playing down of the radiological tradition, and the context of associated nuclear crash teledramas and docudrama re-enactments.
