TOKYO: A Shizuoka Zoo got a hardly active lizard via the mail, triggering outcry from Japanese netizens versus careless family pet proprietors.
The mail plan was provided to the workplace of Rep Japan, which runs iZoo in Kawazu, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Nov 13, reported Japanese paper The Asahi Shimbun.
The zoo team that opened up the plan, which had a tag that provided the materials as “lamp”, was stunned to find a spiny-tailed display lizard, additionally called a ridge-tailed display.
Monitor reptiles can not manage their body temperature levels, as they are poikilotherms. The 25-cm reptile was discovered “very weak and vulnerable from exposure to cold temperatures during shipment”, and had a clinical concern with its left eye, the paper reported.
