Fair or otherwise, when the inquiry develops of where to locate sushi around Dallas-Fort Worth, the community of Rockwall does not right away come to mind. But that’s precisely just how Yuzu Japanese Restaurant & Bar— a sushi restaurant that opened up in mid-October at The Harbor facility on the coast of Lake Ray Hubbard– came to be.
Owners Ray and Mika Win came to Rockwall especially with the concept of bringing a great contemporary Japanese restaurant, offering fresh fish from Japan, to a location they really felt was underserved.
“It’s a pretty new concept for locals around here,” Mika states. “You no longer have to drive to Dallas to get good sushi.”
Win operated in the restaurant market for 8 years, mainly in California where the pair formerly lived. Yuzu is her initial solo endeavor and her vision.
